At WalterFedy, we recognize that addressing climate change is one of the defining challenges of our time.

The transition to a low-carbon economy requires strategic planning and decisive action by municipalities, institutions, and organizations that recognize the tangible benefits of adhering to industry performance benchmarks.

That’s why we are proud to announce that Patrick Darby, Partner and Team Manager of the Energy and Carbon Solutions group, along with Matt Woods, Associate and Energy and Carbon Project Manager have received their ASHRAE Certified Decarbonization Professional (CDP) certification.

They are 2 of the 11 professionals in Canada and 2 of the 64 professionals worldwide, to boast this title.

This certification aims to train professionals involved in the built environment in assessing, analyzing, and developing effective and sustainable strategies to reduce or eliminate the life-cycle carbon footprint of new and existing buildings. This certification covers the fundamental principles, techniques, and tools that could be used in a decarbonization strategy while also addressing the impact of the ever-changing political and social context on said strategies. To offer our clients a quality experience and multi-disciplinary expertise, we must strive to grow our knowledge base and skill set, especially on decarbonization and energy solutions as it becomes a growing corporate concern to reach net zero goals.
