WalterFedy is delighted to share that Canada Royal Milk has officially begun production of their CFIA approved NIURISS infant formula at their Kingston facility. This project stands to play a pivotal role in addressing the nationwide shortage of infant formula and ensuring a more resilient supply for Canadian families.
Canada Royal Milk broke ground in Kingston, Ontario in 2019 to renovate an existing warm shell space into a Quality Laboratory for food and agricultural products. The 20,000-square-foot facility, which includes state-of-the-art laboratory suites, ISO Class 7 cleanrooms, and rooms with Biosafety Level 2 capabilities, was a project that called upon our full range of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural expertise. WalterFedy worked in close collaboration with our sister company, AEC, which provided construction management services, to ensure the seamless renovation and delivery of a space designed to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
As the general manager, I have had the privilege of witnessing first-hand the high level of professionalism, technical expertise, and commitment [the] team has brought to this project. The coordination between [the] architectural, engineering, and construction management teams was seamless, providing us with confidence that the final outcome will meet or exceed our expectations.
As Mark Hamel, Chairman of the Dairy Farmers of Ontario, noted during the inauguration, this is an industry-changing initiative that brings new capabilities to Canada.
We are proud to have been part of such a transformative project and look forward to continuing our work on projects that not only challenge our technical skills but also create meaningful impacts for our clients and the communities we serve.
