WalterFedy was retained to provide architecture and engineering services for the planning, design and construction, of over 500,000 SF of new manufacturing space to the existing facility in the Town of Greater Napanee.
The proposed development is a capacity expansion project for the plant to meet growing demand and market size for original equipment, replacement, electric vehicle and all-terrain tires. The expansion consists of five (5) building additions to the existing manufacturing plant building, a new conveyor bridge and various miscellaneous exterior, outbuildings, concrete pads for mechanical and electrical equipment, supported by expansion of parking areas and roadways around the site.
The redevelopment includes:
- A four-storey Mixer Building located on the north side of the existing building at the east end;
- A single-storey Extruder Building, located on the south side of the existing building at the east end;
- A single-storey Tire Assembly and Cutter Building located on the south side of and centrally to the existing building;
- A single-storey Curing Building located on the south side of the existing building at the west end;
- A single-storey Final Finish Building located on the south side of the existing building at the west end. This building will also include a below grade hydraulic oil pump room; and
- A single-storey Finished Goods Warehouse Building located on the north side of the existing building at the west end.
- An enclosed conveyor bridge between the Tire Assembly and the Curing Building
- A new Carbon Black Silo, Electrical Substation, and other miscellaneous buildings located to the south and east of the existing building, within previously disturbed/developed areas
- A new nitrogen generation station and trestle bridge, located on the south side of the building
- Addition of parking areas to the north of existing parking lots, in areas previously designated for their expansion
- Access roads south of the proposed building additions to connect to existing roads to the north
